Beyond the Scoreboard: Presentation and Book Signing, January 20, 2011

Following a brief presentation on self-publishing and the content of Beyond the Scoreboard, I will be signing copies of Beyond the Scoreboard.

Copies of the book will be on sale that evening at Muehl Public Library for $16.95. Cash or checks will be accepted.

$4.00 from every book sold that evening will be gifted to Muehl Public Library in Seymour.

If you can’t make it and are interested in the presentation, it will be streaming live online beginning at 7:00pm.  Here is the link for the live streaming, http://www.ustream.tv/channel/muehl-public-library-presentation–seymour-wi-january-20-2011

Couldn’t make it back to Seymour to catch the presentation, but am just watching your Prezi and saw that you are also a fan of Daniel Pink’s “A New Kind of Mind.” If you haven’t already, you should check out “Drive,” which is another excellent book by Pink.

Also, I’m a former student of yours (graduated 2003) and your English class is the only other one I remember from High School… aside of Mr. Sweat’s. Though, his was most memorable because of the “write a paper on this topic in one class period,” which I never minded and actually kind of enjoyed. I’m not sure if he’s still been writing it, I always enjoyed his ‘Panache’ column in the Post Crescent; although I haven’t been following it very long, I’ve also enjoyed reading your blog.

I’ve put your book on my to-read list but, ever since I bought it over a year ago, I’ve been doing nearly all of my reading on my Amazon Kindle. (Have you considered releasing your book in an e-book format?)

Yes, I have read Drive as well.

Thanks for your kind words. It’s great to hear from you again. Let me know what you think of the book once you have had a chance to check it out.

    John,

I’m new to your blog so I missed this. Do you plan on repeating your presentation & book signing anytime in the future?

Jim- I do have the audio of the presentation that I will attempt to re-load here. I also have a link on this blog post to the prezi I used for the presentation.

I will be giving another presentation in Madison at the end of April for a group of coaches. Right now I have pending book signings in Manitowoc (@Book World), Two Rivers (@Schroeder’s Dept. Store), Green Bay (@Lighthouse Christian Bookstore), and Sheboygan (@Sonlight Books). Times and dates TBA.
