Beyond the Scoreboard: Officially released, Friday October 15, 2010

The birth day of our fifth child is today, Friday, October 15, 2010. Beyond the Scoreboard becomes a reality; a living document that was conceived nearly two years ago and, finally, the gestation is complete. The book is officially released by Mill City Press on Friday. Find out more about Beyond the Scoreboard at

Thanks to all who have purchased the book already. If you haven’t gotten your copy yet, you will in the next couple of days. I have been humbled by the whole process of writing and publishing. My hope is that some way, some how Beyond the Scoreboard can make a difference, any difference at all, in the proper direction of high school athletics for all who are involved. Beyond the Scoreboard would never have been born without the help and support of all of you.

We are thankful for God’s Hand in all of this as well. Whatever happens, His will be done.

God Bless and have a happy Friday!

  1. John:
I would be happy to do a summary of your book at DrDougGreen.Com. My goal is to bring important work to the attention of my readers and to promote sales of important books. If you agree you can send a review copy to Doug Green, 427 River Terrace, Apt D1, Endicott, NY 13760. Thanks for considering this request and keep up the good work.

  3. Julie Steltz says:

I finished the book & really enjoyed it !! I liked your thoughts on developing a persons’ self-worth and their God given talents. In talking with co-workers about the book, high school teachers and coaches make a big impact on a person for the rest of their lives. Thank you for taking the time to write the book and provide an insight into the current dynamics of high school athletics.

    Julie Steltz
